Circular saws are heavy-duty power tools which can be used to cut straight lines. It is far quicker and far more accurate to use tools like this than to do the job by hand and they can be particularly useful in a number of situations.

Circular saws are usually used to cut wood, however they can also be used on metal or plastic. They’re so powerful that sometimes, they can even be used on brick! This makes them suitable for use on building sites, though more traditionally, they tend to be used in woodworking, producing products like floorboards and wooden furniture.

The limitations? They are confined to cutting straight lines only. However, they are far more powerful than other pieces of machinery and will be ideal for heavy usage. Other tools, like jigsaws, will be able to cut more intricate patterns if required.

When using a circular saw, ensure that you set the blade depth before you start using it, and that you set it correctly. If you set it at the wrong height, you will have too much of the blade exposed, which could be dangerous. It’s also more likely the the saw will kick back during use, causing damage to materials and potentially even injuring someone.
