Buying Power Tools in the Sales

By Jim on 26th November

With Black Friday having just gone and Cyber Monday coming up, this could be a great time to stock up on power tools. If you are buying from trade suppliers, they are perhaps less likely to have sales on, as they will have heavily discounted prices on their equipment anyway. However, if you are buying from a high street retailer, there are lots of discounts around this time of year that you can capitalise on.

Make sure you look out for deals on any items that you are thinking of buying. It would be a shame to miss out. You may also be thinking about Christmas presents when people will perhaps want items like a new drill, or a lawnmower for the summer. Now is the time to buy, as long as you can find the items you want at a discounted rate. Look at all major retailers and compare prices to see if it is worthwhile.

Buying Power Tools Online

By Jim on 31st October

Power tools can range from drills and other pieces of DIY equipment to enormous chainsaws and pieces of equipment that might be used on an industrial scale. If you need to buy any power tools, one of the best ways to do so is online. This is because they tend to be big and bulky, so may be difficult to transport. By choosing delivery services, your power tools will arrive with you and will be unloaded from the van by the delivery driver.

You do need to make sure you are getting what you order, though. Keep all receipts and correspondence in case of problems with the equipment and in case it just isn’t quite what you thought it would be. Also, choose a reputable website to buy from. It’s important that you know you will be getting a genuine, quality branded product when you order from an online outlet.

What is a Garden Multi-tool?

By Jim on 7th September

A garden multi-tool will help you complete various jobs with just one power tool. It will act as a hedge trimmer, bush trimmer, shrub trimmer and general garden help. It will come with different heads in order to be used for its different purposes.

Choose a multi-tool if you are a keen gardener and want the convenience of using one garden appliance that has different functions. Most multi-tools will come with :

  • A cutting head. This is used for cutting weeds, small trees and vegetation.
  • A trimmer head. Use this to cut weeds and grass.
  • A pruning head. The pruning attachment is useful for cutting down tree branches and larger plants.
  • A hedge trimmer. There will be various sizes, so choose a multi-tool that will suit your purpose.

Some multi-tools also come with more premium features – they may be anti-vibration, for example, to allow for easier and safer use. Weigh up the options against the price to find your optimum choice.

Cordless Power Tools – the Best Option for Convenience

By Jim on 6th August

Cordless power tools are the best option for convenient gardening and outdoor services. They can be used anywhere, without you having to think about the need for a plug socket. Power tools that do have cords will usually have quite long cords but regardless of this, cordless tools will definitely give you more options.

For example, a cordless drill can be very effective, as you can work anywhere in the home or the garden. They are especially useful for construction professionals who are going to lots of jobs and need to be able to complete them quickly and efficiently. You will need to remember to charge them up though, or they could cut out whilst you are using them.

Cordless gardening tools like lawnmowers and hedge trimmer are especially popular. Choose an option that will last a long time and will be efficient as well. Look at how long they will last in order to make your decision.

Chainsaws for Use in the Garden

By Jim on 14th July

Chainsaws are big and powerful pieces of equipment. They can have many uses in the outdoors, for cutting down trees, hedges and branches. More often than not they are used by professionals and usually equipment like this will only be sold to qualified tree surgeons who can prove what they do for a living.

The best chainsaws are very light so that they can easily be used at height. They will usually be petrol operated and some are more environmentally friendly than others depending on their emissions. Some chainsaws will have an anti-vibration system and an easy start system in place, making them easier to use. Make sure to always use them as instructed and to wear safety equipment where required, such as protective clothing and headphones to block out the noise. Chainsaws are by no means cheap so if you are thinking about buying one, choose a good brand that comes with a guarantee.
